Ambornetti
Amburnet means maggiociondolo (laburnum) ,in the Occitan language; it is the flower which dots the valley with yellow, where up to the ’50s you could find the “alpeggi”, the alpine pastures, gradually abandoned in the process that pushed inhabitants from the mountain areas towards the valley.
Objectives
Ambornetti project aims to change this direction course, ideally being included in the contemporary stream that overcomes latitudes, in which those who put their civil and professional commitment in the rediscovery of mountain regions are included.
Excellence in culture
Ostana started several cultural initiatives years ago, through a renewed cultural associationism aimed to promoting the area, the creation of the literary contest “Premio Ostana” and the birth of the “Lou Pourtoun” cultural centre, an important project by Turin Polytechnic, which is a meeting and experience exchange point, thanks to conferences, events and projections. Without forgetting that Ostana is part of Italy’s Most Beautiful Hamlets net.
A second life
Ambornetti project is a part of this land of new ideas, and wants to give new life to a hamlet which has been abandoned for 70 years, giving it a new social and economic life, to grant new opportunities: it starts from the restoration of what already exists, adding new and contemporary ways to live the alpine landscape.
Respect for nature
Ambornetti has a strong authenticity root left, which is one of the key values for the whole project, that aims to fit in the nature with deep respect and responsibility, in order to attract those who share the vision of a real territory discovery.
A precious reserve
Monviso is a mountain expressing its whole sacredness, but it also has a precious award from the scientific community: Unesco recognized its value as a biosphere reserve. It encloses a great variety of ecosystems among which the noteworthy Monte Viso, the Alevè wood, mainly consisting of Pinus cembra and the Po river basin, which has its origin in Pian del Re (2020 m.) and flows through the entire central area of the reserve.
